Welcome to “Octagon," an installation created within the confines of an abandoned warehouse. This project was born from an encounter with the distinctive honeycomb-shaped support beams that immediately captured my attention.
Inspired by the structure's geometric intricacies, I embarked on a creative journey. Utilizing various shades of blue, ranging from light to dark, I suspended color filters to interact with the ambient light. This interplay transforms yellow light into a neutral hue, evoking a sense of exploration akin to Alexander von Humboldt's use of a cyanometer—an instrument for measuring the sky—as a pivotal tool in his scientific pursuits.
“Octagon" invites visitors to immerse themselves in a unique sensorial experience that reflects the spirit of scientific curiosity and aesthetic exploration. Traverse through the interwoven colors and spatial geometry, reimagining the warehouse as a canvas where light, color, and form converge to evoke a sense of wonder and discovery inspired by nature's patterns and scientific inquiry
