Step into a small, captivating room where the passage of time is artfully captured by the dance of light throughout a single day. In this intriguing installation, the artist's meticulous observations unfold hour by hour, revealed through a unique medium: old attic insulation plates, chalk and pencil.
As the day begins, the morning light enters from the right side of the room, gradually illuminating the surface of the insulation plates. Here, the artist's pencil and chalk deftly records the evolving patterns of light.
Through the progression of hours, the light source traverses its path across the room, casting changing shadows that are painstakingly translated onto the textured surfaces. The installation encapsulates a visual narrative, with the light creating a graceful, semi-circular arc that arcs downward and then stretches towards the left.
Each stroke of the pencil captures a moment in time, marking the play of sunlight as it interacts with the space. The mundane material of the insulation plates transforms under the artist's hand, becoming a canvas that resonates with the ebb and flow of daylight.
“Light flows" invites viewers to contemplate the passage of time and the transient beauty of natural light. Through this artistic interpretation, the installation celebrates the harmony between light, material, and the artist's keen perception of the everyday.
